Instructions
  1. First make the syrup by adding water, sugar and lemon juice in a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Let it simmer for 10 mins. Remove from heat and add rose water or orange blossom water
  2. Preheat the oven at 380 degrees.
  3. Add all the ingredients except syrup and almonds in a bowl and mix well.
  4. Grease a baking dish and pour in the cake mixture. Cut into cubes before baking and add almonds to each cube.
  5. Place it in the oven and bake for 40 minutes.
  6. Pour the syrup in the cake and bake for 15 more minutes.
